The institute has the state of the art training facilities which are comparable with the best in the Country. It has highly qualified instructors who have climbed many high mountains including Mount Everest and have many first ascents in their names. During field training the institutes provide specialized and modern clothing and training equipment.

Following are the facilities Provided at MMTA

1. OUTDOOR TRAINING AIDS:

MMI has excellent indoor and outdoor training facilities. The institute’s 50x18’ sports climbing wall is of international standard. It has also got obstacle training area within the institute’s complex. Tashi and Baby Face rocks which are located very close to the institute provide practical training to the students on the natural rock faces.

2. FIELD TRAINING AT BASE CAMP:

Field training of Adventure & Pre-Basic courses is conducted at 2300M high Base camp at Lamdan in Henglep Sub-Division CCP. It provides most exciting training spots in and around Dzuko Valley where trainees are enriched with practical training on snow and rock craft.

3. LIBRARY:

The MMI is equipped with a well stocked library, which has now more than 100 books & Journals covering a wide range of subjects mostly mountaineering as also on travel and exploration, astronomy, geology, flora, fauna etc. valuable additions have been contributed from time to time by among others the Swiss foundation for Alpine Research.

4. AUDITORIUM:

MMI auditorium can accommodate more than 100 students at a time. It is used for lectures, demonstrations and also to show various training films to both students and visitors.
